Sources
Where every number comes from.
This is the whole source list, including the records this project wants but does not have yet. If a figure appears anywhere on this site, it traces to an entry below.
The evidence tiers
A source is not trusted because it is official-sounding. It is trusted because of what kind of record it is, and only certain tiers are allowed to carry a figure.
- Tier Amay carry figures
Primary, structured
Machine-readable record published by the agency that produces it — an API table, a statutory filing. Reconciles internally.
- Tier Bmay carry figures
Primary, document
An official document a human must read — audit report, signed ordinance, proclamation. Figures are transcribed with a page reference.
- Tier Cnever a figure
Official statement
The LGU or an agency says it in prose, with no underlying record. Quoted and dated, never used as a figure.
- Tier Dnever a figure
Secondary
Reporting, encyclopaedias, aggregators. A lead to chase. Never a citation for a number.
- Tier Enever a figure
Community
Submitted by a resident and awaiting review against a primary source. Not published until promoted.
Source register
11 records: 7 in use, 4 pending or unavailable.
SupportsPopulation, household population, households, land area, density — municipality and all 40 barangays.
Read from PSA’s PxWeb API. Barangay figures reconcile to the municipal total exactly.
SupportsThe 14 statutory financial and operational filings — budgets, receipts and expenditures, procurement, disaster funds, SEF, indebtedness.
Documents are published as spreadsheets. This site indexes them and links directly to each filing.
SupportsNational infrastructure contracts located in Bauan: description, cost, contractor, dates, status.
Every contract is published by DPWH; BetterGov mirrors that publication as an open API. Records are filtered to Bauan by name and coordinate, mislocated records are flagged rather than trusted, and contracts that also name another LGU are marked as shared because their amount is not Bauan-only.
- Tier CIn use
Philippine administrative boundaries
Community mirror of PSA / NAMRIA boundary shapefiles
SupportsCountry, provincial and barangay outlines used by the 3D location map.
Simplified for rendering. Used for orientation only — no area, distance or boundary is measured from it.
SupportsAudited financial statements; the independent check on self-reported fiscal figures.
Not yet retrieved. COA’s site blocks automated requests, so the report must be downloaded and referenced manually.

2025 Certificate of Canvass and Proclamation
Commission on Elections
SupportsThe names and vote counts of elected officials, and the proclamation date.
Not yet retrieved. The roster on /government is published from the LGU’s own announcements as tier C and labelled “reported”. Vote counts are withheld until this record is in hand.
SupportsThe 2025–2028 roster as announced by the LGU, the mayoral succession since 1998, the founding-anniversary theme and the Sublian Festival dates.
The server timed out when fetched directly on 4 November 2026; the passages used were read from the LGU pages as indexed on that date. Quoted and dated, never used for a fiscal figure.
- Tier DIn use
Subli: On the Use of Multidisciplinary Methods in Musicology
Bienvenido L. Mirano · Diagonal, University of California, Riverside
SupportsNarrative account of the subli, the Holy Cross of Bauan and the Alitagtag discovery story.
Secondary scholarship. Used for narrative and leads only; no figure on this site cites it.

Municipal Small Area Estimates — poverty incidence
Philippine Statistics Authority
SupportsMunicipal poverty incidence, as officially released.
Municipal estimates are published only as documents, not through OpenSTAT. Not yet retrieved.
SupportsOfficial announcements and documents, when reachable.
The domain resolves but did not respond on the research date. Nothing here is cited to it.
SupportsLeads only. Historical narrative, and pointers to primary sources.
Used to find primary sources, never as the citation for a figure. Its barangay table was found to disagree with PSA’s 2024 release.
What is still missing
These are the gaps that keep whole pages unpublished. Each one has a route to closing it.
Elected officials
Needs COMELEC's 2025 certificate of canvass, the Sangguniang Bayan's directory, or a response to an FOI request. A tier B document is enough to publish.
Route: FOI to the Municipality of Bauan, or COMELEC.
Audited finances
The Commission on Audit's annual audit report is the independent check on everything the municipality self-reports. Its site blocks automated requests.
Route: manual download, referenced by page.
Poverty incidence
PSA publishes municipal small-area estimates as documents rather than through OpenSTAT, and only for selected years.
Route: PSA Small Area Estimates report.
Local ordinances and the AIP
The Annual Investment Programme and the Sangguniang Bayan ordinance index would make locally funded projects visible, not just national ones.
Route: FOI request to the Municipal Secretary.

Tiers, reconciliation gates, the correction process and the FOI wording live indocs/verification.md. If a page here disagrees with that document, the document wins and the page is the bug.
The research behind the datasets — endpoint behaviour, discrepancies, spelling variants — is indocs/research-bauan.md.
